My name is Melanie Stewart and this is my 14th year of teaching. I received my Bachelors and Masters degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University and later earned my Gifted Endorsement in 2013-2014. I have been married for 13 years to Robbie Stewart and we have three children. My oldest, Page, is ten years old and will be in the 5th grade. My son, Will, is eight years old and will be in 3rd grade. My youngest, Presley, is four years old and started Pre-Kindergarten this year. They all attend Hesse K-8. Our family has one dog, Gus-Gus, who is a Cocker Spaniel and named after the mouse in Cinderella. When I am with my family, we enjoy grilling, spending time with friends and family, and boating. We love the Atlanta Braves!
My philosophy on teaching is that children should feel loved, come as they are, and be able to get a good education. I believe that the teacher must nurture the social and emotional skills of the children in her class in order to create a nurturing environment. Every child is different and teaching methods should vary to ensure each and every child can reach his/her full learning potential. I want my students to be excited about coming to school and excited about learning new ideas and things. We are going to have a FABULOUS year in kindergarten! |
